• General Info
  A NEW ERA – Driver Education & Training Specialists is a class 5 commercial driving school providing driver training services to Manitoba’s Interlake and North Eastman communities.

  Operation began in May 2009. Training is facilitated in the towns of Beausejour, Pinawa, Lac du Bonnet, Pine Falls and the city of Selkirk.
  Our goal is to create safe, responsible, conscientious driving habits in our clients.

  Theoretical, along with practical skill building techniques are administered through in car training lessons. Instruction is provided in a professional, patient and safe atmosphere and is facilitated using a 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid.
  
• Services
  Pick up and drop off service is available to clients within Pine Falls, Lac Du Bonnet, Pinawa, Beausejour and Selkirk. Clients living outside these centers can make arrangements for training in anyone of these locations. Arrangements for training in the city of Winnipeg can also be arranged.

  Pre-Road Test Preparation
  Pre-road test lessons commence with an assessment of the individuals skills ~ as required by Manitoba Public Insurance’s Department of Driver Vehicle and Licensing Branch to pass your drivers road test exam.

  Assessment
  An assessment of your driving skills is facilitated in car with the instructor in the passenger seat observing your current driving habits. Upon completion, the instructor will breakdown their findings and discuss the results with you, advising you of the requirements that must be met to obtain your license. The instructor will also discuss with you and recommend the steps necessary to prepare you for your road test.

  Advanced Training Techniques
  Obtaining your license is only the first step. Gaining experience in the drivers seat is necessary to the discovery of how many more obstacles you will face daily on your drive to school, work or the hockey game. New situations, various driving conditions and the challenges of sharing the roadway with so many other vehicles may have you losing confidence. It is at this time you may determine the need to upgrade your driving skills to enhance your level of awareness, correct bad driving habits and learn defensive driving skills to ensure the safety of you, your passengers and fellow drivers. These classes are for individuals who currently hold a full Class 5 license and begin with an evaluation of your current driving habits. The instructor will share the results with you and discuss a customized lesson plan to work with you in building your awareness and defensive driving skills.
